Bardstown, the Bourbon Capital of the World, has a new dog park! Now you can fill out an application and provide all information requested to join the park at Save-A-Lot in Bardstown, located at 1500 E John Rowan Blvd.
Since 2011, Bourbon City Bark Park volunteers have raised awareness for an off-leash dog park. As pet owners and dog lovers, the desire of BCBP was to build a dog park in a location suitable for the residents of our community to allow their dogs to run and play in a large fenced-in area without being on a leash. A 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization was formed to serve as a resource to develop the dog park in the Bardstown and Nelson County Area. BCBP secured land from the state of Kentucky for the development of the dog park. The park has been developed in phases, with the first phase supported by the kindness and generosity of many donors, sponsors and volunteers. Currently, our park includes:
- Security System
- Small & Large Dog Areas
- Park Signage
- Water Stations
- Waste Receptacles
- Walking Paths
- Agility Equipment
Future phases will include gazebos, a water feature, additional landscaping and a dog wash station.
We need your help to continue our work! Kindly consider volunteering your time and talents, or make a donation. Bourbon City Bark Park is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
Our Overall Plan
As with the first phase, funds are needed to develop the park further. Bourbon City Bark Park volunteers and staff participate in fundraising activities year round to contribute to the park. Our non-profit organization depends on donations from the public to make the park a reality for our community. Below is the overall planned design for the park.
